Throughout Joe Zenobio’s executive career, he has established a strong reputation as a well-respected corporate leader, presenter, negotiator and innovative business strategist.
He has held a series of high level executive positions in the technology, broadcasting, marketing and financial management sectors over the past 15+ years.
Since April 2008, Joe has been Senior Vice President and Chief Solutions Officer with GS1 US, one of the world’s foremost standards and global commerce organizations.
Before joining GS1 US, Joe held senior executive positions with GS1 Canada. He began there as Chief Operating Officer in 2001 and was promoted to President in 2004. During his tenure, Joe led the company through a period of significant and consistent growth, increasing staff by 110 and revenues by $15 million (600%).
With wide-ranging responsibilities, including team leadership, customer relationship management, and operational strategy and implementation for multi-million dollar business units, Joe has consistently proven himself as a visionary, results-oriented corporate manager with a keen eye for detail. He has an innate ability to both develop and implement complex operational plans across the entire corporate supply chain.
An avid sports fan, Joe brings his competitive spirit to the business world. His “coaching” style is that of a motivational leader who always inspires peak performance from his “players” due to his ability to lead in a hands-off manner, but with open communication and clear, measurable deliverables. In his various positions, Joe’s management style has always created a positive and empowering employee environment that enables team members to define goals, take ownership of their actions and decision-making and be fully engaged and invested in the outcomes.
Prior to his roles with GS1, Joe was COO for Equity Rewards, a national loyalty card program, and was also a senior manager at KPMG, a leading financial advisory firm.
As a senior executive in the broadcasting industry with Corus Entertainment from 1995-2000, he increased sales and implemented strategic cost efficiency measures that resulted in substantially increased profits for the company.
In addition to his strengths as a high-level administrator, Joe is also an excellent written and oral presenter. He is consistently chosen to act as the executive liaison with the Board of Directors and provide regular reporting on corporate developments.
Joe does public speaking on a regular basis, and enjoys sharing his knowledge with University of Toronto and George Brown College students, as well as with youth programs such as The Learning Partnership and Junior Achievement.
Trained as a Chartered Accountant/Certified Public Accountant, Joe is a graduate of the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Commerce degree. Joe and his wife live with their two daughters in Princeton, NJ.
