Jim has been involved in forward-looking research and analysis in the global consumer electronics and home
entertainment industry sectors for close to 30 years and is an acknowledged expert in projecting new technology uptake.
In 1987 he co-founded Understanding & Solutions, which went on to become one of the most respected firm of industry analysts in its field, with a blue chip client base from around the world. The company merged with Decision Tree Consulting In June 2008 to form Futuresource Consulting, in order to offer an enhanced range of services.
At the heart of the Futuresource analysis is an in-depth understanding of the content, communications, storage, broadcast, computing, mobile and consumer electronics sectors, all of which the company tracks right throughout the supply chain, from components and content creation through to retail sales and end consumer usage patterns.
Through this work, and its regular consumer research activities, Jim has developed a close understanding of
consumer wants and needs and, in particular, focuses on how these vary across world markets and within the
different demographic and lifestyle segments.
